Once there was a 19 year old girl who ran off + eloped.

She later gave birth to two amazing sons

After some time in this marriage, she found herself in a relationship where things weren’t working out quite as well as she had hoped.

Neither the girl or her husband had thought about what life would look like together raising those sons, as they decided she would be a stay at home parent. How would they afford this life with children and one income?

Add to that little dilemma, her husband wasn’t one who liked to share — and…

I did a survey/poll on my IG stories about planning, goals + what keeps YOU from reaching yours.

Some of the responses were:

  1. I don’t believe my goals are achievable
  2. I don’t have the money to pursue them
  3. I don’t have time
  4. I feel like I’m not good enough or not ready
  5. I’m too young, people don’t take me seriously or I don’t know where to begin

You can imagine I get hundreds of responses, but these are a few of the recurring ones.

What I know to be true about getting what you want out of life are a few things:

  1. If you don’t intentionally pursue what you want, you won’t achieve it. …

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

I’ve heard this saying my entire life and I would agree that there are so many truths to this statement.

Your tribe, or your circle, is important because whether we admit it or not, the people we are around inspire, encourage, discourage, lead, or drag us.

“According to research by social psychologist Dr. David McClelland of Harvard, [the people you habitually associate with] determine as much as 95 percent of your success or failure in life.”

Your circle are the influencers in your daily existence.

Before we get into the types of people in that circle, let’s talk about why it’s important to have them.

As we move throughout days, months, phases of life-there are some…

I have to admit when I first started selling digital products, I had no idea what I was doing. Until that point, I’d only sold physical products with my first brand, PoshLifeBling.

I felt like my digital product + course launches were all over the place and there wasn’t a true strategy. I would simply go live on Instagram and then send out a link at the end of my live for people to join me in whatever the product was that I was selling. That really worked very well in the beginning because of one reason.

I was going…

…that you can do even with 100 followers!

I make money in my sleep, every single day.

And I do this in ways that most people don’t even identify at first glance.

I don’t sell Merch (yet).

I don’t show up for live webinars or classes with the scarcity tactic messaging that marketers use…

I don’t even do 1:1 coaching anymore.

I found that those practices were draining me — energy, time, emotionally…

I got so fed up with the same ‘tactics’ other brands were doing; you know, the webinar launch with all the tips that you can find on Google…the hiugh level strategy that gives you just enough to know what…

Oh, I get it.

Trust me.

I was the most self-loathing, self doubting person there was as a 20 something year old young woman. I accepted just about anything. Didn’t trust myself. Felt unworthy…So that alone should have you very excited to know that (spoiler alert) I don’t know who tf that girl was - anymore.

I’m so far removed from her that just seeing in writing that I was once her…makes me take pause.

So you have the end result.

What you don’t have is the how on how I went from one extreme to the complete other end…

Someone’s gonna be extremely pissed off by this…but honestly it was not difficult to do…it was so easy, and it was not my first time growth-hacking social media.

I’ve been doing this since MySpace days.

I know the struggle with entrepreneurs and influencers wanting to build a following. I hear it all the time from my Community and my audience.

‘I’ve tried everything’.

‘This is so hard!”

“There are too many people on social media, I’m never going to grow!”

On and on and…seriously, I get it.

But I’m not famous.

I didn’t come from a rich family- seriously L.Boogie (my Mommie) was 16 years old when she gave birth to me…

There were no handouts, trust.

In fact- I built my 2 milli follower…

I’ve been an entrepreneur for a long time. I mean, since I can remember I’ve had that spirit inside of me.

As a little girl of no more than 6 or 7, I can remember the feeling of ‘resonating’ I used to get whenever I’d put on this specific t-shirt that my Gram had bought for me. It was the ‘Rosie The Riveter’ inspired Iconic ‘We Can Do It’ tee that tied just below my waist that went with a pair of black leggings. It was my favorite!

I’d wear that tee while selling to my friends back home in…

A few weeks ago, I was in a meeting with my team.

I’m a Founder of a Brand, but I’m also Head of Community and Brand in a top Silicon Valley Tech Ed Startup.

Each week we have a wind up + wind down, where we share our highs and lows for the week. Honestly it’s one of my favorite parts of the week.

I’ve never seen any company share a space like this with the employees.

It’s a part of why I love my company so much.

I should backtrack a bit, because while you know the end of…

I’ve been obsessed with Spartacus for many years now.

I’m one of those Original fans, who had to wait for the next episode to come on during the series, like before they made it to Netflix.

I wrote the first version of this back in August of 2016. I was just getting into teaching what I know, and because I watched the series so much — I thought of a few interesting correlations between Spartacus Blood + Sand & Entrepreneurship.

The best part; it’s all still relevant!

Here are the 13 lessons every entrepreneur can learn from Spartacus Blood + Sand

1. Red Serpent.

Sacrifice and loss can lead…
